Welcome to the homepage of the Pecos League of Professional Baseball Clubs.

The Pecos League is an independent professional baseball league Headquartered in Houston, Tx. which operates in cities throughout West Texas and New Mexico. Pecos Teams play in cities that do not have Major or Minor League Baseball teams and is not affiliated with either. The Pecos League will bring quality professional baseball to the Southwestern US beginning in May 2011. We are constantly updating this website so come back.
Teams/Cities The Pecos League will operate with either 6 or 8 teams in 2011 Season in Eastern Arizona, New Mexico and West Texas. If 8 teams participate in the league then there will be two divisions of 4 teams. If 6 teams participate then there will be one division of 6 teams. In 2012 the Pecos League will have an Eastern Division in Oklahoma, North Texas, and Louisiana. Existing Teams invited to the Pecos League will be Las Cruces Vaqueros, Bisbee Copperkings, Desert Valley Mountain Lions, White Sands Pupfish and El Paso Dragons) The league will have 1 or 2 travel teams depending on scheduling needs.

Possiblities for New Teams for 2011 season include (Artesia NuMexers, Roswell, NM Invaders, Del Rio Tx Gunslingers, and Alpine Cowboys) The league has begun operations in September 2010 in preparation for a 2011 season. Additional details will be released after inaugural league meetings. Here are current timelines for Pecos League
  • September 26, 2010 Finalization for all city proposals.
  • September 27, 2010 Prelimary Schedule Release for New Mexico Teams.
  • December 15, 2010 Finalization of schedule for 2011 season.
Finalization of cities and teams will occur January 15th with schedule release January 31 2011.
Rules The Pecos Baseball League will observe Major League Baseball Rules, (National League) no Designated Hitter. Teams will be required to submit and adhere to 22 man rosters before each series. Teams will play 4 game home stands Wed-Saturday, 3 game home stands Sun-Tuesday, and Exhibition games on Monday and Tuesday Nights.
Salary Cap The Pecos Baseball League will operate with a maximum and a minimum salary cap. Teams will have 22 man rosters with 5 person taxi roster.

If 8 teams enter the league it would cause for 2 proposed divisions, with 6 teams there will be one division
