Roswell Invaders Outslug Raton Osos 20-13

May 27 2013 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Raton Osos 20-13 in a high-scoring game at Joe Bauman Park. Roswell collected 20 hits and 11 walks, overcoming 13 hits by Raton. The Invaders took a 7-6 lead after two innings and held a 9-8 advantage through four frames before pulling away late.

Roswell scored three runs in the sixth inning, two in the seventh and five in the eighth to build a 20-10 lead. Raton answered with two runs in the eighth and three in the ninth, but Roswell had already created too large a margin. The Invaders committed four errors while Raton made three.

Erick Gaylord led Roswell by going 5-for-6 with four runs, three RBI and a home run. Chad Kruse went 4-for-4 with two walks and two RBI, while Ryan Normoyle hit a two-run homer and finished with four RBI. Andrew Deeds added two hits and three RBI, and Vincent Mejia had two hits, three walks and two RBI.

Raton first baseman M. Lange went 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, a double and two home runs. Wesley Jones added three hits and four runs, and Raton received two RBI from AJ Doyle. AJ Martin earned the win for Roswell after allowing three hits and two earned runs with three strikeouts in two innings. Raton's Jared Rolan took the loss after surrendering five hits and two earned runs in 2.1 innings.
