3/11/2018-Houston Apollos 6 Hollywood Stars 5

This game was played on 3/11/2018 at Coastal Park
The Houston Apollos escaped the Hollywood Stars with a 6-5 7th inning walkoff win. With the win the Apollos improved to 3-1 and the Stars fell to 1-2-1. The Stars controlled the game most of the way leading the entire way. Chad Hazaga started and went six innings allowing 4 runs with 5 strikeouts. Kyrawn Whitfield made several sensational run saving catches for the Stars in Centerfield. Roger Andras hit a key 2 rbi triple in the 2nd inning to put the Stars ahead. Johnny Ramirez was called on for the save in the 7th inning. He could not deliver as he walked two batters and gave up a sac fly. Relly Mercurio attempted to come in and save the game but it was too late.

Cip Garza started for the Apollos but lasted just two innings before he broke his fingernail. Aaron Cook also left the game with a hand injury. Tyler Herr pitched a dominant scoreless three innings for the Apollos with 8 strikeouts. Dylan Hatch pitched two innings picking up his 2nd win of the week. William Salas and Carson Lee continued to lead the way for the Apollos going 3-4 and driving in the game winning run in the 7th inning. Jake Marshall was 2-3 with a triple.
