Roswell Invaders Defeat Las Cruces Vaqueros 8-4

May 28 2012 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Las Cruces Vaqueros 8-4 after collecting 13 hits at Apodaca Park. Roswell scored once in the first inning and added three runs in the second to take an early 4-0 lead, while Las Cruces answered with four runs in the fourth inning. The Invaders regained control with two runs in the fourth and added single runs in the fifth and seventh innings.

Reggie Taylor led Roswell with three hits and two runs. Brycen Bell, C. Sullivan and AJ Morris each drove in two runs, while Bell finished with two hits. Adam Kam added two hits and scored twice. Las Cruces was led by Trevor Whyte, who collected three hits, and Randy Wells, who drove in two runs.

Liam Zenger-OBrien earned the win for Roswell, allowing eight hits and four earned runs in 4.1 innings with one walk and one strikeout. Charlie Short provided 1.2 scoreless innings and struck out four, while Brandon Godfrey, Dakota Luefenberg and Reed Alfieri combined to complete the game without allowing another run. PJ Jang took the loss for Las Cruces after giving up 11 hits and seven earned runs in five innings.
