The White Sands Pupfish get key pinch-hit in 12-8 victory over the Roswell Invaders

Eric Kalbfliesh was cold coming off the bench, but Kalbfliesh warmed up quickly as Kalbfliesh stroked a key pinch-hit single in the one to lead the White Sands Pupfish (16-28) to a 12-8 win over the Roswell Invaders (29-12) on Wednesday at Griggs Park, Alamogordo NM.

With the game scoreless in the first inning Kalbfliesh came to the plate and singled.

Each team blasted the others pitching, and there were 20 total runs and 32 hits during the game. Both bullpens were busy with 10 pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.

Dubal Baez put himself in scoring position with two extra-base hits for the White Sands Pupfish. He doubled in the first inning and tripled in the fourth inning.

Christian Johnson racked up five RBIs on three hits for the Roswell Invaders. He homered in the sixth inning, doubled in the seventh inning, and singled in the ninth inning.

Anthony Pastrana got his third win for the White Sands Pupfish despite allowing five runs over five innings. He struck out two, walked two and surrendered 10 hits.

Blake Oliver (4-1) took the loss for the Roswell Invaders. He allowed 11 runs in five innings, walked two and struck out three.
