The Tucson Saguaros best the Santa Fe Fuego in shootout 17-11

Pitchers had a tough day during the game between the Tucson Saguaros (32-9) and the Santa Fe Fuego (9-30), as the two teams put up 28 runs combined in a 17-11 the Tucson Saguaros win.

The two teams combined for 29 hits in the game.

The Tucson Saguaros turned the win into a rout with six runs in the third.

Ryan Retz racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Tucson Saguaros. He homered in the first inning, doubled in the fourth inning, and singled in the eighth inning.

The Santa Fe Fuego had no answer for Roby Romero, who kept runners off the basepaths in his appearance. Romero held the Santa Fe Fuego hitless over two innings, allowed no earned runs, walked one and struck out two.

Tyler Herr got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed three runs over three innings. Herr struck out three, walked one and gave up two hits.

Harold Rosario was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed nine runs in three innings, walked five and struck out three.

The Tucson Saguaros hammered the Santa Fe Fuego pitching as six hitters had a field day, combining for 11 hits, 12 RBIs and 12 runs scored.
