An exceptional effort by Marty Anderson hoisted the Garden City Wind (18-16) to a 4-2 win over the Topeka Train Robbers (14-21) on Saturday at Bettis Complex.
The Garden City Wind got the win thanks in large part to Andersons dominant, 10-strikeout performance. The Garden City Winds pitcher gave up just five hits over eight shutout innings.
Clay Ardeeser reached base two times. He scored one run and had one RBI. He homered in the first inning.
Victor Soto (1-2) was the games losing pitcher. He lasted just five innings, walked six, struck out seven, and allowed four runs.
