The Tucson Saguaros take out the Santa Fe Fuego with help from Retz 7-6


The Tucson Saguaros (20-6) beat the Santa Fe Fuego (5-21) 7-6 on Sunday at Warren behind Ryan Retz, who drove in three runs. He singled in the seventh inning and doubled in the eighth inning.

Chris Tavares had two extra-base hits for the Santa Fe Fuego. He doubled in the fourth and fifth innings.

Aaron Smith recorded his first win of the year for the Tucson Saguaros. He struck out none, walked one and surrendered no hits.

Jimmy Daley ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his first loss of the year. He lasted just two-thirds of an inning, walked none, struck out one, and allowed one run.
