The Santa Fe Fuego outdone by Rampone and the Tucson Saguaros 4-3


The Tucson Saguaros (18-6) beat the Santa Fe Fuego (5-19) 4-3 on Friday at Kino Veterans behind Michael Rampone, who had two extra base hits.

He doubled in the first and third innings.

The Tucson Saguaros relied on Cameron Cox to eat up innings en route to the win. Cox pitched eight innings and allowed two earned runs, six hits and no walks while striking out six.

Matt Haskins got a hit in each of his three at bats. He singled in the third and sixth innings and doubled in the eighth inning.

Ryan Harper (2-4) took the loss for the Santa Fe Fuego. He lasted just seven innings, walked two, struck out three, and allowed four runs.
