The Garden City Winds late runs seal 14-4 blowout over the Great Bend Boom


The Garden City Wind (9-9) scored six runs in the ninth to cap a 14-4 win over the Great Bend Boom (8-8) on Wednesday.

The Garden City Wind scored in the ninth on , an RBI single by Nick Francis, a two-run single by Clay Ardeeser, and a two-run single by Ken Olszewski.

Francis racked up three RBIs on four hits for the Garden City Wind.

Logan Trowbridge reached base four times in the game for the Great Bend Boom. He singled in the first and fifth innings.

Ryan Riordan got the win, running his season record to 1-3. He allowed two runs over six innings. He struck out four, walked two and surrendered 10 hits.

Patrick Barnett ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with his second loss of the year. He lasted just three innings, walked one, struck out three, and allowed five runs.
