The Trinidad Triggers late runs seal 17-7 blowout over the Santa Fe Fuego

The Trinidad Triggers (3-1) took home a 17-7 victory over the Santa Fe Fuego (0-5) on Monday at Fort Marcy Park, fueled by four runs in the eighth inning.

The Trinidad Triggers scored in the eighth on an RBI double by Edmund Cheatham, a single by Jason Webb, an error, and a two-run double by Anthony Ruggiero.

Ruggiero put himself in scoring position with four extra-base hits for the Trinidad Triggers.

The Trinidad Triggers got the win thanks in large part to Karasinski Daniels dominant, seven-strikeout performance. Daniel allowed three earned runs on five hits and no walks over seven innings.

Eric Maria racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Santa Fe Fuego. He homered in the seventh inning and singled in the second and eighth innings.

The Trinidad Triggers easily handled the Santa Fe Fuego pitching as six hitters combined for 20 hits, 14 RBIs and 13 runs scored.

Ryan Harper was charged with the loss. He lasted just two innings, walked none, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
