The Tucson Saguaros offense too much for the Santa Fe Fuego in 11-4 rout


The Tucson Saguaros (1-0) refused to relinquish the lead after grabbing it early against the Santa Fe Fuego (0-1), recording an 11-4 victory on Thursday at Kino Veterans.

Six runs in the first three innings allowed the Tucson Saguaros to put the game away early.

A groundout by Adam Urbania, an RBI single by Ruben Rivera, an RBI single by Thomas McKenna, an RBI single by McKenna, and a two-run single by Michael Rampone in the first inning fueled the Tucson Saguaros offense early.

Urbania racked up two RBIs on two hits for the Tucson Saguaros.

Chris Tavares racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Santa Fe Fuego. He singled in the first, fifth, and seventh innings.

David Contreras got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over one inning. Contreras struck out two, walked one and gave up two hits.

Thomas Zarawicz was the games losing pitcher. He allowed six runs in 2 1/3 innings, walked one and struck out one.
