The Trinidad Triggers outlast the Santa Fe Fuego in high-scoring affair 16-10


Pitchers had a tough day during the game between the Trinidad Triggers (44-18) and the Santa Fe Fuego (33-21), as the two teams put up 26 runs combined in a 16-10 the Trinidad Triggers win.

The two teams combined for 40 hits in the game.

The Trinidad Triggers stamped out any hope for the Santa Fe Fuego with five runs in the sixth. The Trinidad Triggers scored in the sixth on a solo home run by Eric Williams, a three-run home run by Edmund Cheatham, and a solo home run by Luc Pomales.

Cheatham racked up four RBIs on three hits for the Trinidad Triggers.

Jake Swartout improved to 4-1 on the year by picking up the win for the Trinidad Triggers. He allowed two runs over three innings. He struck out none, walked none and surrendered four hits.

Cody Spriggins (6-4) took the loss for the Santa Fe Fuego. He allowed nine runs in 5 2/3 innings, walked six and struck out four.
