The Alpine Cowboys outdone by Woodard and the Roswell Invaders 9-5


Roche Woodard went 1-4 and hit a home run, sparking the Roswell Invaders (33-26) to a 9-5 victory over the Alpine Cowboys (36-23) on Saturday at Kokernot Field. He homered in the first inning.

Robert Silky pitched lights out for the Alpine Cowboys. Silky gave up just one hit, allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out two during his two innings of work.

Lars Liguori got his third win for the Roswell Invaders despite allowing five runs over six innings. Liguori struck out two, walked three and gave up seven hits.

Daniel Thorpe was charged with his third loss of the year. He lasted just six innings, walked one, struck out four, and allowed five runs.
