The Alpine Cowboys offense too much for the Las Cruces Vaqueros in 9-2 rout

7/2/2015-

The Alpine Cowboys (25-17) jumped out to an early lead on the Las Cruces Vaqueros (11-31) and captured a 9-2 victory on Thursday at Kokernot Field.

The game was decided quickly as the Alpine Cowboys exerted their will early with six runs in the first three innings. An RBI single by Daniel Aldrich and a two-run single by Robert Zaragoza during the first inning fueled the Alpine Cowboys offense early.

Aldrich got on base three times in the game for the Alpine Cowboys. He scored three runs and had one RBI.

The Alpine Cowboys relied on Kevin Klaess to eat up innings en route to the win. Klaess pitched seven innings and allowed no earned runs, three hits and five walks while striking out five.

Casey Collins was charged with his fifth loss of the year. He allowed seven runs in five innings, walked three and struck out six.
