The White Sands Pupfish make the most of 11 hits in 7-5 victory over the Alpine Cowboys

Both the White Sands Pupfish (7-1) and the Alpine Cowboys (7-2) put runners aboard on Thursday, but it was the White Sands Pupfish that were able to take advantage, pulling out a 7-5 win at Kokernot Field.

Aaron Olivas reached base four times. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He singled in the third, fifth, and eighth innings.

Matt Henriksen was solid at the plate for the Alpine Cowboys. Henriksen went 4-5 and drove in one. He singled in the second, fourth, sixth, and ninth innings.

Alex Embler improved to 2-0 on the year by picking up the win for the White Sands Pupfish. He allowed three runs over six innings. He struck out six, walked one and surrendered nine hits.

Daniel Thorpe (0-1) took the loss for the Alpine Cowboys. He lasted just 6 2/3 innings, walked three, struck out two, and allowed four runs.
