Joe Borowski went 2-3 and hit a home run, helping the White Sands Pupfish (6-0) to an 8-6 victory over the Las Cruces Vaqueros (0-7) on Saturday at Joe Bauman Park.

He homered in the second inning and singled in the sixth inning.

Despite the loss, the Las Cruces Vaqueros Guadalupe Barrera dominated the White Sands Pupfishs batters, giving up one run and striking out five.

Kyle Cross was solid at the plate for the Las Cruces Vaqueros. Cross went 3-4 and scored one run. He singled in the third, fourth, and eighth innings.

Derek Meyer recorded his first win of the year for the White Sands Pupfish. Meyer struck out none, walked none and gave up one hit.

Walby Oniel-Hiraldo (0-1) took the loss for the Las Cruces Vaqueros. He lasted just zero innings, walked none, struck out none, and allowed four runs.
