Early boost from Grimaldo helps the Santa Fe Fuego get past the Las Vegas Train Robbers 10-5

The Santa Fe Fuego (1-0) built an early lead against the Las Vegas Train Robbers (0-1), scoring five runs in the first inning, en route to a 10-5 win on Wednesday at Fort Marcy Park.

The Santa Fe Fuego scored in the first on a solo home run by Eddie Grimaldo, a two-run home run by Chevas Numata, a solo home run by Macyn Clifford, and a solo home run by Eddie Newton.

Newton had two extra-base hits for the Santa Fe Fuego.

The Santa Fe Fuego relied on Francisco Rodriguez to eat up innings en route to the win. Rodriguez allowed three earned runs, six hits and one walk while striking out five over 7 2/3 innings of work.

The Santa Fe Fuego pounded the Las Vegas Train Robbers pitching, as six hitters combined for 12 hits, nine RBIs and 10 runs scored.

Izaiah Guerrero couldnt get it done on the mound for the Las Vegas Train Robbers, taking a loss. He allowed eight runs in five innings, walked two and struck out five.
