The White Sands Pupfish top the Las Vegas Train Robbers behind Mercedes 2 hits 7-4

Sunday was a great day for Yermin Mercedes, as he clubbed two home runs to carry the White Sands Pupfish (16-22) to a 7-4 victory over the Las Vegas Train Robbers (12-24).

The Las Vegas Train Robbers had the lead early, but couldnt hold off the White Sands Pupfish. The Las Vegas Train Robbers were ahead until the eighth inning, but the White Sands Pupfish would not be denied the win, taking the lead back on a solo home run by Mercedes.

Mike Delong pitched lights out for the White Sands Pupfish. The Las Vegas Train Robbers managed just two hits off of Delong, who allowed no earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his five innings of work.

Eric Cordova ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He allowed six runs in seven innings, walked two and struck out six.
