Miscue gives the Douglas Diablos 10-9 walk-off victory over the Alpine Cowboys


A walk-off error from Leandro Mateo brought home the winning run for the Douglas Diablos (4-5) in a 10-9 victory over the Alpine Cowboys (8-3) in 10 innings at Copper King Park on Thursday.

Mateo did his best to jumpstart the offense for the Douglas Diablos, reaching base two times. He singled in the second inning.

Each team blasted the others pitching, and there were 19 total runs and 24 hits during the game. Relief pitchers got their fill of innings during the game, with the opposing managers using 11 pitchers in total.

Malquiel Brito led the Douglas Diablos offensive threat, as he got on base three times in the game. He scored two runs and had one RBI. He tripled in the second inning and singled in the fourth inning.

Mike Morales got the win, running his season record to 1-0. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out three, walked one and surrendered two hits.

Mike Straub (0-1) was the games losing pitcher. He lasted just zero innings, walked two, struck out none, and allowed one run.
