July 21 2019 Alpine Cowboys defeated the Tucson Saguaros 11-2 behind an 18-hit offensive performance. Alpine broke the game open with six runs in the second inning, added three in the seventh and scored twice in the ninth. Tucson scored once in the sixth and once in the seventh. Alpine committed two errors while Tucson had four.
Ely Gallego led Alpine with three hits, two runs and two RBIs, including a home run. Chris York went 4-for-5 with two runs, while C. Scura, Ellington Hopkins and Sam Little each had two hits. Jake Binder added two hits and two RBIs, and Alpine finished with seven total RBIs.
Binder earned the win after allowing one run on seven hits in six innings. He walked three and struck out five. Alejandro Amezquita worked a scoreless inning after allowing one run, while Matt Eiel and A. Click each pitched a scoreless inning in relief.
Will Morris took the loss for Tucson, surrendering nine runs, eight earned, on 12 hits in 6.2 innings. He walked six and struck out six. Daniel Diaz had two hits and an RBI for Tucson, while Shawn Barrowdale also collected two hits in the losing effort.
