June 21 2019 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 25-7 behind a 20-hit offensive attack. Roswell scored four runs in the first inning, added three in the third and erupted for 15 runs in the fourth to take control. The Invaders also scored twice in the fifth and once in the eighth, while Santa Fe’s runs came in the fourth, fifth and sixth innings.
Jalin Lawson led Roswell with three hits, five RBI and five runs scored.
Daryl Donerson went 4-for-4 with two RBI and three runs, while
Jason Ibrahim scored four runs and drove in three.
Nolan Hoff added three hits and four RBI, and
Austin Maltby collected three hits. Roswell hit five home runs, with Lawson hitting two, and additional homers coming from Donerson, Ibrahim,
Matt Paciello and A. Stubblefield.
Alex Werbach earned the win after allowing seven hits and two earned runs in five innings while striking out nine and walking one.
Tanner Klein closed out the game with 3.2 hitless innings, six strikeouts and a save. Santa Fe starter
Jose Garcia took the loss after surrendering 14 runs, 12 earned, on eight hits in three innings.
Santa Fe totaled 12 hits, led by B. Dansereau’s three hits and three RBI, including a home run.
Naja Garcia also homered and drove in one run, while
Rick Phillips and
Naja Garcia each had two hits.
