High Desert Yardbirds Roll Past Tucson Saguaros 12-1

June 14 2019 The High Desert Yardbirds scored in five innings and defeated the Tucson Saguaros 12-1. High Desert built a 9-0 lead with three runs in the first inning, two each in the second, third and fourth, and three more in the sixth. Tucson scored its only run in the sixth inning. Brett Harmon led the Yardbirds with three hits and three RBI. Daniel Gardner scored once and drove in two runs, while Daniel Anciso added one hit, two runs and two RBI. Aiden Brook hit a home run and finished with one run and two RBI. High Desert totaled nine hits and eight walks. Colton Draney earned the win after allowing one run on eight hits over seven innings with four walks and seven strikeouts. Austin Brown worked two scoreless innings in relief. Tucson starter Tyler Daugherty took the loss after surrendering nine earned runs on six hits and six walks in three innings, despite recording six strikeouts. The Saguaros finished with 10 hits but left 13 runners on base.
