May 30 2019 The Santa Fe Fuego overcame an early deficit with a late scoring surge to defeat the Alpine Cowboys 11-8. Santa Fe outhit Alpine 11-9 and scored in five consecutive innings from the fourth through the eighth, including three runs in the sixth and two each in the seventh and eighth. Alpine committed the only error of the game.
Marten Pauwels led Santa Fe with two hits, including a home run, and four RBI.
Robert Garza and
Sherman Graves also homered, with Garza driving in two runs and Graves contributing two RBI.
Rick Phillips and A. Stubblefield each had two hits for the Fuego. Alpine's
Rodney Tennie and
Lance Myers collected two hits apiece, while C. Graves went 2-for-4 with two RBI.
Logan Linder earned the win after allowing one run on three hits in two innings with one walk and three strikeouts. Jacob Guilianelli recorded the save with a hitless ninth inning and one walk.
Mike DEletto took the loss for Alpine after surrendering five earned runs on three hits in 1.1 innings, with three walks and one strikeout.
