Roswell Invaders Outlast Ruidoso Osos 17-15

July 18 2018 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Ruidoso Osos 17-15 in a 10-inning offensive battle at Joe Bauman Park. Roswell collected 18 hits and Ruidoso finished with 15, with both teams committing two errors.

Roswell took a 4-1 lead in the first inning and remained ahead 10-6 after six innings. Ruidoso scored four times in the seventh to tie the game, but the Invaders regained the lead with four runs in the eighth. The Osos scored twice in the ninth to tie the game again before Roswell pushed across the winning run in the 10th.

Ben Portelli led Roswell with three hits, four runs and five RBI, including two home runs. Austin Maltby went 4-for-4 with two RBI and four runs, while Jordan Pritchard had three hits, including a triple, and drove in four runs. Justin Byrd added two hits and two RBI, and Jordan Garr homered and drove in a run.

Ruidosos Dillon Fahr and James Garnett each recorded three hits, with Garnett producing three RBI. Brock Hartley hit a home run and finished with three RBI, while Jose Fernandez also homered and drove in two runs. Roswells JD Cozad earned the win after pitching a scoreless 10th inning with two strikeouts. Ruidosos AJ Peterson took the loss after allowing the go-ahead run in one-third of an inning.
