Ruidoso Osos Cruise Past High Desert Yardbirds 13-5

June 27 2018 The Ruidoso Osos defeated the High Desert Yardbirds 13-5, collecting 14 hits in the victory. Ruidoso scored twice in the first inning, added three runs in the third, and maintained control with runs in the fifth, sixth and eighth before breaking the game open with five runs in the ninth. High Desert scored twice in both the fourth and sixth innings and added one run in the ninth. Travis Smith led the Osos with four hits and three RBI, while Dillon Fahr went 3-for-6 with two RBI. Brock Hartley added two hits, including a home run, and drove in one run. Jose Fernandez had two RBI, and D. Reddy reached base four times with four walks. Ruidoso also received home runs from Smith and Hartley, with Hartley adding a double and Smith contributing a triple. Dylan Yankle earned the win after allowing five hits and four runs, only one earned, in six innings. He walked two and struck out five. Victor Flores followed with two scoreless innings and three strikeouts, while Matt Kerin completed the game with one inning and two strikeouts. B. Harmon paced High Desert with two hits and four RBI, while Shane Brown scored twice and hit a solo home run. Aaron Cook added a hit, a run and an RBI. Travis Holm took the loss after surrendering eight hits and seven runs, six earned, in six innings; he walked five and struck out one.
