Roswell Invaders Rally Past Santa Fe Fuego 9-6

June 26 2018 The Roswell Invaders rallied past the Santa Fe Fuego 9-6 at Joe Bauman Park. Roswell overcame an early 3-2 deficit by scoring once in the fifth and six times in the sixth, then held Santa Fe scoreless in the bottom of the seventh after the Fuego scored twice in the top half. Roswell finished with 10 hits and one error while Santa Fe had nine hits and two errors.

Brett Portelli delivered the key offensive blow for Roswell with a home run and three RBI. Nolan Hoff went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, while Austin Maltby collected two hits and an RBI. Jordan Garr also drove in a run. For Santa Fe, Mike Annone hit a home run and a double while going 2-for-4 with three RBI, and Ethan Estes and Zach Hoffman each had two hits and an RBI. Santa Fe also received a double from Dan Pellinen.

Jagger Harjo earned the win for Roswell after allowing five hits and four runs, two earned, in six innings. He walked two and struck out five. Ryne Underwood worked the seventh and allowed two runs on four hits. Julian Devora took the loss for Santa Fe, giving up six runs on five hits with six walks and eight strikeouts in five innings, while Omar Salinas allowed three runs in one inning of relief.
