Fuego Build Early Lead and Hold Off Invaders

June 25 2018 Santa Fe Fuego defeated the Roswell Invaders 9-6 at Joe Bauman Park, using a five-run third inning and a three-run fourth to build a 9-2 advantage. Roswell answered with three runs in the fifth and one in the seventh but could not complete the comeback. Santa Fe outhit Roswell 13-11.

Logan Linder led the Fuego offense and pitching staff. He went 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBI while earning the win after allowing five earned runs on eight hits in six innings. Jackson Webb, Ryan Arena and Brett Luna each had two hits and two RBI, while Mike Annone also collected two hits. Yale Hughes closed the game with 1.2 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out five for the save.

Roswell catcher Austin Maltby went 3-for-5 with a home run, three runs scored and one RBI. Logan Coughlin homered and drove in two runs, and Jordan Garr added three hits and two RBI. Ben Mckendall took the loss after surrendering nine earned runs on 11 hits in four innings, while Caleb Mireles held Santa Fe scoreless over the final five innings and struck out seven.
