June 20 2018 The Roswell Invaders defeated the White Sands Pupfish 18-8 at Griggs Park, pounding out 16 hits while limiting White Sands to 13. Roswell scored five runs in the first inning and broke the game open with a nine-run fourth, building a 14-4 lead. The Invaders added five more runs over the final five innings, while White Sands scored once in the seventh and eighth innings and twice in the ninth.
Logan Coughlin led Roswell with four hits, three runs and three RBI.
Gavin Lavallee also collected four hits, including a home run, and scored three runs, while
Austin Maltby hit a three-run homer and finished with two hits, three runs and three RBI.
Ed Reichenbach added two hits and two RBI, and
Nolan Hoff had two RBI. Roswell also received a two-hit, three-RBI performance from Maltby and finished without an error.
Ben Mckendall earned the win after allowing four runs on six hits in six innings. He walked four and struck out seven. White Sands starter
Joseph Johnson took the loss, surrendering 14 runs, eight earned, on 13 hits in four innings while striking out three. Roswells bullpen allowed four runs over the final three innings.
Chris McCoy paced White Sands with three hits and three RBI.
Joe Randazzo also had three hits and drove in two runs, while
Joshua Williams hit a two-run home run and added a double. White Sands committed two errors in the loss.
