Santa Fe Fuego Rout Alpine Cowboys 29-7

May 27 2018 The Santa Fe Fuego overwhelmed the Alpine Cowboys 29-7 behind a 29-hit attack at Fort Marcy Park. Santa Fe scored in seven innings, including six runs in the first, five in the fourth, four in the fifth, three in the seventh and seven in the eighth. Alpine scored four times in the fourth and added three runs in the ninth. AJ Flores went 7-for-7 with four runs and seven RBIs for Santa Fe. C. Kwitzer added six hits, four runs, six RBIs and two home runs, while A. Stubblefield scored five runs and hit two homers with four RBIs. Robert Garza and Chance Randall also homered for the Fuego. Alpine’s Jonathan Bigley hit a home run and finished with two hits and two RBIs. Ismael Pena earned the win after allowing three hits and four runs over six innings, striking out six and walking five. AJ Flores followed with three innings, allowing three runs on three hits while recording three strikeouts, and was credited with the save. Alpine starter Matt Terrones took the loss after surrendering 12 hits and 12 runs, nine earned, in 3 1/3 innings. Santa Fe committed no errors, while Alpine was charged with five.
