Roswell Invaders Rout Raton Osos 17-5

June 13 2013 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Raton Osos 17-5, combining 19 hits with a six-run seventh inning to pull away. Roswell scored four runs in the first inning, added one in the second, one in the fourth and three in the fifth before breaking the game open in the seventh. The Invaders added two runs in the eighth and finished with 17 runs and no errors, while Raton collected 11 hits and committed one error.

Vincent Mejia led Roswell with two hits, two runs and six RBI, including a home run. Chad Kruse went 3-for-6 with four RBI, while Ryan Normoyle had three hits, three runs and two RBI with a home run. Goose Kallunki and Roger Bernal each added three hits and three runs, and Ryan Taylor contributed two hits, two runs and two RBI, including a triple. Roswell also received home runs from Mejia and Mike McCarthy, who finished with two hits and two RBI.

Jacob Cook earned the win for Roswell after allowing seven hits and three earned runs in five innings. He walked two and struck out one. Casey Jacobsen followed with three innings of two-hit ball, allowing one run while striking out three, and D. Laufenberg worked a scoreless ninth? No, he allowed one run on two hits with two walks and three strikeouts.

Raton scored three times in the fourth inning, once in the sixth and once in the ninth. Wesley Jones went 2-for-4 with an RBI, while Will Casey went 2-for-2 with an RBI in addition to taking the loss on the mound. Casey allowed 11 hits and nine earned runs in five innings, striking out five and walking two.
