Triggers Pull Away From Fuego 8-2

June 28 2017 The Trinidad Triggers defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 8-2 at Central Park, using a 12-hit attack to pull away for the victory. Santa Fe finished with three hits and two errors, while Trinidad overcame two errors of its own to score in four different innings.

Trinidad took a 3-0 lead in the third inning and added a run in the fourth after Santa Fe scored twice in the top half. The Triggers extended the advantage to 5-2 with another run in the fifth before breaking the game open with three runs in the seventh.

J. Randle and T. Henry each homered for Trinidad. Randle went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a walk, while Henry had two hits, scored twice and drove in one run. J. Brown also collected two hits and an RBI, and pinch-hitter L. Owens drove in two runs. Brandon Erickson contributed two hits from the mound.

Erickson earned the win by pitching all seven innings, allowing three hits and two runs, one earned, while walking three and striking out four. Santa Fe starter Ed Brandsema took the loss after allowing five hits and four earned runs in four innings, with three walks and four strikeouts.
