June 6 2011 The White Sands Pupfish defeated the Carlsbad Bats 17-7 at Griggs Park, scoring 16 of their 17 runs from the fourth through eighth innings. White Sands collected 12 hits and overcame a 2-1 deficit with a seven-run fifth inning, then added four runs in both the seventh and eighth. Carlsbad finished with 14 hits and scored four times in the sixth and once in the seventh, but could not close the gap.

Michael Hur led White Sands with four hits, two home runs, two runs and seven RBI. Robert Rodriguez drove in three runs, while Justin Smith and Rod Allen each added an RBI; Allen also homered. Chris Nyman had two hits and an RBI, and Andrew Riddick reached base three times with two walks, a hit and two runs scored.

For Carlsbad, Ron Santos went 3-for-5 with a home run, one run and two RBI. Michael Cavazos scored three runs and had two hits and two walks, while Mike Goldy and Brandon Powers each drove in two runs. White Sands pitcher Corey Parsons earned the win after allowing four runs on six hits in three innings. Carlsbad starter Joe Snider was charged with the loss after recording no outs and allowing five runs, four earned, on one hit and five walks.
