May 27 2011 The White Sands Pupfish defeated the Carlsbad Bats 12-2 at Griggs Park. White Sands collected 14 hits and built its lead with one run in the first inning four in the third one in the fifth five in the sixth and one in the seventh. Carlsbad scored both of its runs in the sixth and finished with six hits.
Andrew Riddick powered the Pupfish offense with three hits two home runs three runs and seven RBI. Robert Rodriguez added three hits including a home run with two runs and two RBI while Ruben Sanchez went 4-for-4 with four hits three runs and a triple. Lammar Guy scored three runs and drove in one for White Sands.
Alex Casillas earned the win after throwing five scoreless innings allowing two hits and striking out 11. JJ Potrikus worked two innings and allowed two runs while Adam Osteen and J. Winters each pitched a scoreless inning. Carlsbad starter Charles Swenson took the loss after allowing 11 runs on 11 hits in six innings with five walks and five strikeouts.
