Alpine Cowboys Rally Past Roswell Invaders 15-13

July 12 2024 The Alpine Cowboys overcame an early deficit to defeat the Roswell Invaders 15-13. Alpine scored 15 runs on seven hits and one error, while Roswell collected 16 hits but committed six errors. The Invaders built an 11-9 lead through five innings before Alpine moved in front with a run in the seventh and four more in the eighth. Roswell was held scoreless over the final three innings.

Kyle Rodriguez led Alpine’s offense with two hits, three runs, one RBI and a home run. James Prockish added two hits, three runs and two RBI, while Drew Bayard drove in three runs and Wyatt Grant contributed one hit and one RBI. Alpine also stole three bases, including one each by Tyler Reistetter Sean Becker and Khalil Wilson.

Roswell’s Jonathan Cavazos went 3-for-4 with five RBI and three runs, Jose Sanchez collected four hits and three RBI, and Shane Morrow added three hits and one RBI. Robert Malone scored four runs and had two hits. Roswell’s 16-hit attack produced five runs in both the fourth and fifth innings, but the Invaders could not sustain the offense after the sixth.

Jaylen Smith earned the win for Alpine after allowing two hits and no runs over two innings with two strikeouts. Alec Cruz recorded the save with a scoreless ninth, allowing no hits or walks. Riley Bost started for Alpine and gave up six runs on nine hits in four innings, while Wilbur Rodriguez took the loss for Roswell after allowing three runs in 1 1/3 innings.
