July 11 2024 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Roswell Invaders 15-6 at Joe Bauman, collecting 16 hits and scoring in seven innings. Roswell took a 1-0 lead in the first, but Alpine answered with one run in the second and erupted for seven runs in the third to take control.
Johnny Medina powered the Cowboys with two home runs, two hits, three runs and four RBI.
James Prockish added a home run, two hits, three runs and two RBI, while
Tyler Reistetter went 3-for-6 with two doubles, two runs and one RBI.
Hunter Reid contributed two hits and three RBI, and
Drake Angeron had a hit, an RBI and two stolen bases.
Roswell scored once in the fourth, once in the seventh and three times in the eighth, but Alpine added two runs in the fourth, one in the fifth, two in the eighth and two in the ninth.
Brett Lindsay led the Invaders with four hits and three RBI, including a triple, while
Jonathan Cavazos and
Luis Moreno each had two hits.
Reid earned the win after allowing two earned runs on eight hits in five innings, with one walk and four strikeouts.
Kacey Cheek allowed one run over two innings, and
Jack McNellis struck out three in a scoreless ninth.
Jacob Young took the loss for Roswell after surrendering 11 runs, seven earned, on 12 hits in four innings.
