July 3 2024 The Tucson Saguaros defeated the Pecos Bills 5-2 after building a four-run lead through the first two innings. Tucson scored once in the first and three times in the second before adding another run in the seventh. Pecos scored in the sixth and ninth innings but could not overcome the early deficit. The Saguaros finished with seven hits while the Bills had two.
Gavy Perez-Torres went 2-for-4 with two RBI for Tucson, while Jordan Harrison-Dudley hit a solo home run and drove in another run. BJ Minarcin scored twice and contributed two RBI despite going hitless, and J. Franklin added two hits, including a double and a triple. Tucson also recorded three stolen bases, including three by Minarcin.
Trey Trimble earned the win with seven innings of one-hit ball. He allowed one run, walked three and struck out two over 25 batters faced. K. Dalton worked a scoreless eighth with one strikeout, and Nate Sander recorded the save after allowing one run on one hit in the ninth; the run was unearned.
Tyler Duffy produced both of Pecos hits, going 1-for-2 with a double and an RBI. G. Polancio also drove in a run, while the Bills received two walks each from David Jeffers and M. Boria. Gilberto Rosario took the loss after allowing four earned runs in two innings, and Pecos pitchers struck out seven Tucson batters overall.
