June 28 2024 The Marysville Drakes defeated the Vallejo Seaweed 15-4 behind a 12-run eighth inning. Marysville finished with 15 hits and no errors while Vallejo collected eight hits and committed three errors.
Marysville led 2-0 after the first inning before Vallejo moved ahead with three runs in the fourth and added another in the sixth. The Drakes trimmed the deficit to 4-3 with a seventh-inning run, then broke the game open in the eighth with 12 runs. Vallejo’s runs came in the fourth and sixth innings.
Anders Green went 5-for-5 with five RBIs for Marysville.
Joe Starick added two hits, including a home run, scored three runs and drove in four, while
Josh Leslie went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
Declan Peterson also homered and finished with two RBIs. For Vallejo,
Ike Brown had three hits, and
Trey Fletcher hit a home run and drove in three runs.
Kohl Petersen earned the win after allowing one hit and striking out three in two scoreless innings.
Aj Cordova started for Marysville and worked six innings, allowing seven hits and four runs with five strikeouts. Vallejo starter
Christian Zellner pitched seven innings, permitting nine hits and three runs, one earned, while striking out six.
Matthew Lazcano took the loss after surrendering five hits and eight runs in one-third of an inning.
