June 15 2024 The Blackwell Flycatchers defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 10-1, scoring in six innings and finishing with a 12-5 advantage in hits. Blackwell took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, added three runs in the second, and scored twice in both the fourth and fifth innings. The Flycatchers added single runs in the eighth and ninth. Santa Fe scored its only run in the eighth inning and committed three errors.
J. Dice led Blackwell’s offense with three hits, three runs and six RBI in five at-bats. He hit three home runs, while D. Burroughs, R. Salinas and C. Phillips also homered. Burroughs drove in one run with one hit, Salinas added three hits and one RBI, and Phillips finished with two hits and one RBI. R. Lozano also recorded an RBI.
Braeden Levandowski earned the win with a complete-game performance for Blackwell. He allowed five hits and one run while walking two and striking out 12 over nine innings.
Greg Salazar took the loss for Santa Fe after allowing eight runs, five earned, on eight hits in 4.1 innings.
Mateo Fergurson and
Emmanuel Benavidez also pitched in relief for the Fuego.
