August 4 2023 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Bakersfield Train Robbers 9-8 in a back-and-forth game at Albert Park. San Rafael scored twice in the fourth inning and added a run in the seventh before pushing across two runs in the ninth to secure the win. Bakersfield finished with 12 hits while San Rafael collected 11.
San Rafael’s K. Johnson went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and two runs scored, while K. Guerra added two hits, four runs and two walks. B. Dorman drove in a run and reached base three times, and T. Georgeson contributed two RBIs. K. Hasegawa went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI.
Bakersfield’s R. Phillips went 2-for-5 with two runs, and D. Moore and C. Jones each had two hits. P. Von Zboray hit Bakersfield’s only home run and drove in two runs. Bakersfield scored three times in the second inning, added a run in the fourth, and tied the game with two runs in the sixth before taking an 8-7 lead with two runs in the eighth.
San Rafael starter K. Hasegawa allowed six runs, two earned, on eight hits in five innings while striking out seven. A. Fitzpatrick followed with 2 2/3 scoreless innings, and
Billy Babb earned the win after recording the final four outs without allowing a hit. Bakersfield starter
