June 4 2023 The Monterey Amberjacks defeated the Dublin Leprechauns 12-4 after building an early lead and adding five runs in the fifth inning. Monterey scored four times in the first and once in the second before its five-run fifth and two-run seventh put the game out of reach. Dublin scored once in the first and added two runs in the eighth and one in the ninth.
Anthony Ward went 2-for-3 with two runs and three RBI for Monterey and hit a home run.
Chaison Miklich also homered and finished 2-for-2 with a walk and three RBI.
Joshua Rodriguez went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI while
Ryan Diaz added two hits and scored three runs. Monterey finished with 12 runs and 12 hits.
Garrett Payton earned the win for Monterey after allowing one run on five hits over 6.1 innings. He walked one and struck out four.
Matt Palmer gave up two runs over 1.2 innings and
Nick Samudio allowed one run in one inning.
Wyatt Rowland took the loss for Dublin after surrendering 10 runs on eight hits in five innings. He walked seven and struck out three.
Joel Paulino worked three innings in relief and allowed two runs with one earned run.
Saul Razo led Dublin with two hits and one RBI while
John Jaques also drove in a run.
