Hormigas Defeat Fuego 7-2

July 19 2022 The Weimar Hormigas defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 7-2 in a seven-inning game. Weimar collected seven hits without committing an error, while Santa Fe had six hits and two errors.

Weimar took a 2-0 lead in the first inning and added three runs in the third to build a 5-1 advantage. Both teams scored once in the fifth before the Hormigas added another run in the sixth. Alex Westman led Weimar with two hits and four RBI, including two doubles. Sean Bennett added a hit and two RBI, while Jacob Banda contributed one hit and one RBI.

Joseph Barrons earned the win for Weimar after allowing two runs, one earned, on six hits in seven innings. He walked five and struck out six. Santa Fe starter Ismael De los Santos took the loss after allowing five runs, three earned, on three hits in four innings, with three walks and three strikeouts. Matt Fountain worked the final two innings for Santa Fe and allowed two runs on four hits while striking out four.
