Austin Weirdos Defeat Weimar Hormigas 12-6

July 6 2022 The Austin Weirdos defeated the Weimar Hormigas 12-6, building a 9-2 lead through eight innings before both teams scored in the ninth. Austin finished with 17 hits and one error, while Weimar collected 11 hits and committed five errors.

Gabriel Murillo went 3-for-6 with three RBI and three runs for Austin, while Christian Jones added three hits, two runs and four RBI. Jones and M. Bracey each hit a home run, and Bracey finished 3-for-5 with two RBI and three runs. Mike Flohr had three hits and an RBI, and Tevin Brown and J. Cardenas also drove in runs.

Alex Bolton earned the win with a complete game, allowing 11 hits and six runs, all earned, while walking three and striking out eight. Austin scored in the first, fourth, fifth, sixth, eighth and ninth innings, including three runs in the sixth and three more in the ninth. Weimar was held scoreless through six innings before scoring once in the seventh and eighth and adding four runs in the ninth. Jonathan Garza took the loss after allowing eight hits and four runs in five innings.
