Cowboys Pull Away for 7-2 Win Over Invaders

July 27 2021 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Roswell Invaders 7-2 behind a 13-hit attack. Alpine scored three runs in the first inning, added one in the fifth and broke the game open with three more in the sixth. Roswell scored both of its runs in the seventh inning but could not close the gap.

Chris ONeal led the Cowboys with two hits, including his 10th home run of the season, and drove in three runs. Bryce Donovan added two hits and an RBI, while Christian Armstrong collected two hits and a double. Josh Laurie and Tylor Frailey also finished with two hits apiece, and Frailey stole two bases.

Jared Strait earned the win for Alpine after allowing six hits and two runs, one earned, in 6.2 innings. He walked five and struck out three. Alejandro Amezquita completed the game with 2.1 scoreless innings, allowing one hit and striking out three.

Carter Coats took the loss for Roswell after surrendering 11 hits and seven runs, five earned, in six innings while striking out eight. Anthony Moore held Alpine scoreless over the final three innings, but the Invaders finished with seven hits and fell to the Cowboys.
