Roswell Invaders Roll Past Alpine Cowboys 23-9

July 26 2021 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Alpine Cowboys 23-9 at Joe Bauman Park, scoring in eight innings and collecting 20 hits. Alpine finished with nine hits and committed three errors, while Roswell played errorless baseball.

Roswell built a 9-6 lead through three innings before breaking the game open with six runs in the fourth and four more in the fifth. The Invaders added three runs in the sixth and scored once in the eighth. Alpine scored twice in the fifth and once in the eighth but could not close the gap.

Robert Morosetti led Roswell with five hits, four runs and five RBI, including a home run and a double. Bret Leiferman added six hits, one run and five RBI with a home run and a double. Austin Thurman scored four runs with three hits, two RBI and two stolen bases, while Colton Adams scored five runs and drove in two. For Alpine, Chris ONeal went 3-for-3 with two walks and two runs, and Mark Traylor drove in two runs.

Ian Concevitch earned the win after allowing two runs on two hits in four innings with five walks and two strikeouts. Greg Carrington followed with two innings of one-run ball, allowing one hit and striking out three. Alpine starter James Prockish took the loss after surrendering nine runs, eight earned, on eight hits in three innings.
