Roswell Invaders Pull Away From Santa Fe Fuego

July 19 2021 The Roswell Invaders defeated the Santa Fe Fuego 5-1 at Joe Bauman Park. Roswell scored once in the first inning and added four runs in the seventh to secure the victory, while Santa Fe’s lone run came in the third. The Invaders finished with 12 hits and no errors; the Fuego had 10 hits and committed five errors.

Bret Leiferman went 2-for-4 with a double and two runs scored for Roswell. Jakob Schuler was 2-for-3 with a run, an RBI and two walks, while Robert Morosetti, Lance Myers and Cole Chambers each drove in a run. Parker DePasquale led Santa Fe with three hits, including two doubles, and Zac Baldini added two hits and the Fuego’s only RBI.

Mike Herrera earned the win after allowing two hits and striking out one in 1.2 scoreless innings. Ashton Holdridge started for Roswell and gave up one run on seven hits with six strikeouts and three walks over 6.1 innings. Troy Whitty finished the game with a scoreless ninth. Baldini took the loss for Santa Fe despite striking out eight, allowing five runs on 12 hits over seven innings; three of the runs were earned.
