Tucson Saguaros Roll Past Roswell Invaders 13-3

June 26 2021 The Tucson Saguaros defeated the Roswell Invaders 13-3 behind a 16-hit attack. Tucson scored twice in the first inning, added three runs in the fifth and two in the sixth before breaking the game open with four runs in the eighth and two in the ninth. Roswell scored twice in the second and once in the sixth and finished with five hits and seven errors.

Kokko Figueiredo led Tucson with three hits and three RBI, while Danny Kerr and Leo Gallegos also collected three hits apiece. Gallegos drove in two runs, and Kerr added two RBI. David Walker and Gabe Wurtz each scored twice, with Wurtz contributing two hits and an RBI. Tucson recorded three doubles from BJ Minarcin and two from Gallegos.

Tyler Rumbaugh earned the win after allowing four hits and three earned runs in seven innings. He walked two and struck out nine over 102 pitches, including 72 strikes. Jesse Palafox added two strikeouts in a scoreless inning, and Sam Hillyer worked a scoreless ninth.

Carter Coats took the loss for Roswell after surrendering nine hits and seven runs in 5.2 innings, although two of the runs were earned. He struck out five and walked one. Cody Strayer and Jack McNellis finished in relief, while John Tuttle led Roswell with two hits and an RBI.
