Alpine Cowboys Hold Off Tucson Saguaros 8-5

June 9 2021 The Alpine Cowboys defeated the Tucson Saguaros 8-5 behind an 11-hit attack. Alpine took control with three runs in the second inning and added single runs in the third and fifth before scoring twice in the seventh and once in the eighth. Tucson answered with one run in the third one in the fourth and three in the seventh but could not close the gap.

James Prockish led Alpine with three hits three runs and two RBI while Calvin Graves collected three hits and drove in three runs. Bryce Donovan added two hits and scored twice and Tylor Frailey reached base safely four times with three walks and two RBI. Graves also hit a home run. Alpine finished with 11 hits and left 16 runners on base.

Jake Voss earned the win after allowing seven hits and five runs over 6.1 innings with five strikeouts and five walks. Only two of the runs against him were earned. Marco Becerril recorded the save with two scoreless innings one hit allowed and three strikeouts. Tucsons Neil Taylor went 3-for-5 with two runs and an RBI while Danny Kerr had two hits and an RBI. Estaban Lizaola took the loss after permitting four earned runs on five hits in three innings.
