August 16 2020 The Roswell Invaders overcame an early deficit and defeated the Salina Stockade 6-5. Roswell collected eight hits and scored three runs in the seventh inning before adding two more in the ninth to secure the win. Salina finished with seven hits and led 5-4 entering the bottom of the ninth after scoring twice in the eighth.
Ian Yetsko powered Roswell’s offense with a home run and three RBIs. Seth Strong went 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI while Coleton Horner went 2-for-3 with two runs and a double. Darryl Donerson added two hits and an RBI and Collins Robinson contributed an RBI.
Salina’s offense featured two-hit performances from E. Geraci and Jared Gay. Geraci scored twice while Gay hit his third home run of the season and drove in a run. Drew Schutt also homered and finished with two RBIs while Alex Nielson had a hit and an RBI.
Matt Cronin was credited with the win for Roswell after pitching a scoreless ninth inning with three strikeouts. Jonathan Fleckenstein allowed three runs in four innings and Reid Feeley surrendered two runs in four innings before Cronin finished the game. Tommy Giunta took the loss for Salina after allowing six runs on seven hits with three walks and four strikeouts in eight innings.
