June 26 2012 The San Rafael Pacifics defeated the Sonoma County Grapes 10-5 at Albert Park, using a four-run first inning and a three-run seventh to build a lead. San Rafael finished with 12 hits while Sonoma County collected nine. The Pacifics scored in six of their first seven innings and held the Grapes scoreless from the second through the eighth before Sonoma County scored three times in the ninth.
Maikel Jova led San Rafael’s offense by going 2-for-4 with a home run a double and two RBI. Darrick Hale went 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI while Matthew Alton and Steve Detwiler each added two hits. The Pacifics also received RBI from Johnny Woodard Chris Fontaine Henry Calderon and Zack Pace.
Jake Rasner earned the win after allowing three hits and two runs over six innings while striking out 10 without issuing a walk. Matthew Stabelfeld followed with two scoreless innings. Tyler Pearson allowed three runs in the ninth but San Rafael had built enough cushion to secure the victory. For Sonoma County DJ Dixon recorded two hits and a home run while Chris Debiasi drove in two runs. Matthew Gibbs took the loss after allowing nine hits and seven runs over six innings.
